Safari theme has always been a popular choice for little boy’s birthday parties. But recently, there’s a more modern twist many mums are choosing when designing their Safari themed parties. Instead of the traditional, colourful jungle animals, styling features tropical elements, vines and greenery, with a mix of gold touches. See how mum Rebecca styled her son, Leo’s First Birthday party using Luxe Tropical inspirations.
My son’s name is Leo so we wanted to go with a Leo the lion jungle theme. He is a little cheeky too so we thought a wild theme would suit him perfectly.
DECORATIONS AND STYLING
We went with the colours green, gold and a slash of blue. I love the look of balloon garlands so I had to have one but I added the palm leaves to give it a safari jungle look. I also added the gold balloon letters Wild One to match the balloon garland.
The table I used is from my dad’s farm and went perfectly with the wood look backdrop. My husband sprayed the elephant, lion and giraffe with gold spray paint to give it that animal safari look.
The Print & Party wrapped chocolates, party bag tags and jar labels finished off our table. We choose all green, gold and blue lollies to match his colour scheme.
FAVOURS GIVEN TO GUESTS
We hired a hall near our home for Leo’s party as we had 100 guests coming and we knew our home couldn’t cater for that many people. It was perfect as there was a park attached to the hall. Leo’s cake was made by Jenmarie Baking. Leo’s cookies were made by Delightful Temptations.
Our guests all loved Leo’s party. They said there was something for everyone. A park for the older kids, lion face making for the younger kids and a baby corner with toys for the babies. They loved Leo’s table and thought the food was delicious.
